Songs to Cook Breakfast By

So make me a mix of songs to cook breakfast by. Not just cereal and milk. But an early morning culunary endeavor.

When I've attempted cooking mixes, I've found that it needs to be a good balance of songs that add to the rhythm of the task at hand, and tunes that somehow inspire things to taste good (musically or lyrically). And for breakfast, there's gotta be a little musical caffeine slowly dripped in to help us wake up.

For an added challenge, steer clear of songs that are about food or breakfast time unless they're too friggin' perfect to leave out.

So there you have it. Enough songs to get the food from the cupboard and fridge to the plate.
Then we'll use the other person's mix to make such a breakfast, and report back with our findings (extra credit if a recipe is contributed).

Aimee's Breakfast Cooking Mix:
1. I Know My Love - Danny Carnahan
2. Samba da Minha Terra (live at Carnegie Hall) - Joao Gilberto
3. Venice - The Books
4. Venus as a Boy - Bjork
5. Langt Ner I Smaland/Slangpolska - Vasen
6. Better People - India Arie

(that's 23 minutes and 41 seconds....is that enough?)

23 Minutes and 41 seconds is perfect. It wouldn't take you an hour to make breakfast. Unless it were an awesome breakfast.

SO here you are. Starting you off with a track to get your ass in gear, one two get you highly caffeineated, and then breakfast begins. Some cracking, some whisking, some sizzling, a moment to let things simmer, and finally a moment to just sit and enjoy the morning.

1- Baby Gonna Leave Me- Tom Waits
2- Gamen (Vulture)- Garmana
3- Us - Regina Spektor
4-Fiona- Lyle Lovett
5- I'm Gonna Always Love You- The Muppets
6- I've Got the World on a String- Sarah Vaughn
7- Too Much - The Spice Girls (Yes, Really)
8-Chelsea Burns- Keren Ann

Wow I dig your mix! Wish I'd known you need that much caffeine. I would have cranked mine up a notch. I usually ere on the side of "not a morning person" when I'm picking morning music for a house with more than just me in it.
